Quick guides for using iowii.

Welcome to iowii

iowii is a personal finance app for you or your shared space: accounts, transactions, budgets, planning, savings, statement imports, and statistics, in Portuguese and English.

    What you can do with iowii

    iowii covers the full cycle: record, organise, plan, and share.

    • Record — income, expenses, and transfers, by hand or imported from a CSV or PDF statement.
    • Organise — by category, account, and entity, with rules that categorise on their own.
    • Plan — monthly budgets, savings goals, a debt payoff plan, retirement simulation, and net worth.
    • Share — a common space with other people, with permissions you set one by one.

    Navigating the app

    The sidebar — or the menu button on mobile — groups the pages into four blocks.

    • Main — Dashboard and Transactions.
    • Analytics — Statistics.
    • Planning — Schedule, Debt Planner, Reminders, Budgets, Savings, Retirement Calculator, and Entity Comparator.
    • Manage — Net Worth, Accounts, Entities, and Rules.

    TipYour profile, preferences, subscription, and this knowledge base live in the profile menu. The account and period filters stay reachable at the top of every page, but they only affect pages that show transaction data — Dashboard, Transactions, Statistics, Budgets, and Savings. Elsewhere the icon is still there for navigation, but changing it doesn't change anything on that page.

    Searching and sharing guides

    The Knowledge home page lists every guide with a summary and step count. A section can contain several guides, each with its own address. Use the search bar at the top or browse topics in the left panel. Inside a guide, return to the list through "All guides".

    Try without creating an account

    Demo mode lets you explore every feature with sample data, without creating an account. Start it from the demo button on the home page, leave whenever you like, and rest easy: nothing you do in demo is saved.

    Featured capabilities

    A few things you might not expect to find:

    • Statement import from CSV and PDF, with duplicate detection.
    • Automation — rules that categorise transactions and pair up transfers.
    • Assistant — answers questions about your accounts and suggests transactions.
    • Payment reminders, plus alerts for a negative balance or an exceeded entity limit.
    • Configurable dashboard, dark mode, and high-contrast mode.
    • Install on your phone as an app, with no app store involved.

    App updates

    iowii is updated often. When a new version ships while your tab is open, a New version available prompt appears in the bottom corner. Press Update to move to the new version, or dismiss it and carry on — the update still happens the next time you open the app.

    TipIf you open a page right as an update is going out, iowii shows the Updating the app screen and opens the page you asked for as soon as the new version is ready. There is nothing for you to do — and none of your data is lost.

    Plans and your account data

    iowii has a free plan and paid plans with more spaces and members. Review or change your plan in the Subscription tab inside Profile — the same place where you can export your data or permanently delete your account.
