Quick guides for using iowii.

Read and customise the dashboard

Understand where the figures come from, follow alerts, budgets, debts, and savings, and choose which modules you want to see on desktop and mobile.

  1. 1

    Choose the account and period

The dashboard opens with an overview of your finances. Use the global selector to choose All accounts or one account and to change the period. Income, expense, and chart cards follow that period; Current balance keeps the account's real balance and shows its scope below the figure.

TipOn desktop, the filters sit at the bottom of the sidebar. On mobile they are always at the top of the page — in the coloured header on Dashboard, Transactions, Statistics, Budgets, Schedule, Debt Planner, Reminders, Savings, Retirement, Comparator, Net Worth, Rules, Profile, Preferences, Accounts, Entities, Participants, Space, Subscription, and Feedback, and in the top bar on every other page.

  2. 2

    Read the main cards

On desktop, the first cards show Income, Expenses, and Current balance. Each card identifies the period or account, includes scheduled transactions, and compares the total with the previous period when a reliable comparison exists.

    • Forecast — combines the realised figure with scheduled transactions included in the calculation.
    • Open forecast — takes you to planning, where upcoming transactions are shown together.
    • Days of coverage — estimates how long the balance lasts at the recent average spending rate.
    • Savings rate — shows the share of income left after expenses.
  3. 3

    Resolve dashboard alerts

Alerts only appear when you need to act. A balance below the limit warning refers to the minimum set on the account. A transactions with no account warning appears when their account was deleted; choose Review to open those transactions without account or period filters and link them again.

  4. 4

    Track debts and monthly coverage

The Debt plan block shows the outstanding amount, this month's minimums, active debt count, payoff progress, priority debt, and next due date. If you have not added debts yet, the dashboard shows a shortcut to add them.

    • Monthly coverage — works out what remains in your financial month after expenses and minimums still due.
    • Status — distinguishes minimums that are paid, covered, due, or not covered.
    • Change — opens Preferences so you can change the day your financial month starts.
  5. 5

Read "Safe to spend" and the charts

The Safe to spend card shows what's left until the end of the month, with a per-day pace. It starts from this month's income, takes out what you've already spent, and takes out your committed money — tap that row to see where it comes from: scheduled items still due this month, debt minimum payments, known future expenses, and what you're setting aside for your goals. You don't need any limits set up to see it. Under Income and Expenses, charts split figures by category; you can filter series, browse categories, and open Manage limits. Financial evolution compares income and expenses by month when at least two months of data exist.

TipCharts use the global account and period filters. Monthly debt coverage always uses all accounts and your financial month.

  6. 6

See the comparison with last month

Below "Safe to spend," the Smart Insights card leads with exactly how much more or less you've spent than at the same point last month, and which category drove the difference — always a real calculation, never AI-invented. Tap View full analysis to reach the detailed version on Statistics.

  7. 7

    Use the additional summaries

Depending on your data, active space, and chosen modules, the dashboard can also show:

    • Space settlements — who owes whom and the action to mark transactions as settled.
    • Savings — goals, progress, dates, and the amount still needed.
    • Savings challenge — how much you can save by month end and a daily suggestion.
    • Recent transactions — latest activity, quick filters, and shortcuts to add or view all.
    • Left to budget — monthly income that has not yet been assigned to budget limits.
    • Safe to spend — what's left this month after what you've spent and what's already committed.
    • Smart Insights — the comparison with last month and a link to the full analysis.
  8. 8

    Customise the desktop dashboard

Open Customise to control dashboard modules. You can apply the Overview, Report, or Cash views, save your own view, and choose at least one main card and one detail chart.

    • Top cards — Income, Expenses, and Current balance.
    • Detail charts — Income breakdown, Expense breakdown, and Financial evolution.
    • Widgets — Left to budget, Recent transactions, Savings, and Smart Insights.
    • Quick actions — privacy mode, scheduled items, account reconciliation, and CSV export.
    • Accessibility — high-contrast mode.
  9. 9

    Use the mobile dashboard

On mobile, the dashboard has its own layout: balance and account at the top, search, statistics, and privacy, quick actions, period Spent, and vertical cards. Shortcuts open Accounts, Budgets, Schedule, Savings, Debt plan, and the full menu.

    • Visible by default — Safe to spend, Smart Insights, Total wealth, Goals, and Debt plan when data exists.
    • Add widgets — enables Income, Left to budget, Recent transactions, and Savings challenge, or hides any widget, including Safe to spend and Smart Insights.
    • Total wealth — total and up to four accounts with their balances.
    • Goals — up to three goals with current amount, target, and progress.
  10. 10

Hide amounts and personalise the order

Turn on privacy mode to hide financial figures across the dashboard; on desktop, each main card can also reveal its own value. Once you have enough data, iowii may ask permission to analyse aggregate signals only — totals, categories, and regularity — and order sections for your profile. You can accept, decline, or change this later in Preferences.
