Reminders and calendar

Create reminders for dates you cannot miss, and see everything scheduled on a monthly calendar, dragging a payment to another day when you need to.

  1. 1

    Create a reminder

In the New Reminder form, only the title and the date are required. Amount, category, and notes are optional and exist so you can tell at a glance what the reminder is about when it turns up.

TipA reminder is neither a transaction nor a scheduled item — it never touches balances or accounts. It is simply a nudge so you do not forget something.

  2. 2

    Link it to a debt

If you already have debts recorded, the Debt field fills in the rest for you: the debt's name in the title, its minimum payment as the amount, monthly repeat, and the Debt category. If the debt has a payment day, the date jumps to the next due date.

TipYou can change any field after picking the debt — the fill-in is a starting point, not a lock.

  3. 3

    Mark the repeat

The repeat setting — no repeat, weekly, monthly, or yearly — tags the reminder so you can see what kind of commitment it is. It is a label for you: a reminder you mark as done does not generate its next occurrence on its own, so create the next one when you want to be reminded again.

TipFor something that genuinely repeats and moves money — rent, an instalment — use a scheduled item in Scheduled Items and Forecast. A reminder is for what is not a transaction, like cancelling a subscription in time.

  4. 4

    Read the list

Reminders group by urgency and change colour according to the date:

    • Due — the day has arrived or passed. Amber if it is today, red if it is Overdue.
    • Upcoming — still ahead of you, with the date beside them.
    • Done — collapsed at the end of the list, struck through, and you can open them again.

TipFrom four reminders onward a search box appears, matching the title, the notes, and the category.

  5. 5

    Mark done or delete

Each reminder has two actions: mark as done, which archives it without deleting it, and delete, which removes it for good. Mark off what you have handled so the list only shows what is still outstanding.

  6. 6

See the month on the calendar

Beside the list, the Monthly Payment Calendar lays out the whole month. Each day shows that day's transactions, inflows and outflows told apart, and debts due that day appear in red with their minimum payment.

TipUse Scheduled (Future) to see only what is still to come, or All Transactions to include what has already happened.

  7. 7

    Drag to change the date

You can drag a scheduled payment to another day on the calendar and its due date changes immediately. It is the fastest way to move an expense out of a tight week.

TipOnly future payments can be dragged — what has already happened is fixed, because it is history rather than a plan.

  8. 8

Use reminders and the agenda on mobile

On mobile, the page has its own layout: the count of due reminders sits in the coloured header. Then comes the button to create a reminder, the reminder list, and finally the payment agenda — the monthly calendar as a day-by-day list, with the same month range, the same Scheduled/All toggle, and debts due that day.

TipDragging does not work on a touchscreen, so you tap a future payment in the agenda to open a small form and pick the new date.
