Profile and preferences

Set your name and avatar, choose your language and date and number formats, switch on privacy mode, and decide what iowii shows by default.

   Find your settings

   Everything about your account lives in one place, in tabs: Profile, Preferences, Accounts, Participants, Space, Subscription, and Feedback. On a phone the tabs sit in a strip you can swipe across the top.

   Edit your profile

   Under Profile you change the name shown across the app and pick an avatar. You also see your email, since when you have had an account, and which plan is active.

   Hide your figures

   Privacy mode replaces every amount with dots, across the whole app. It is for when you are in public or showing your screen to someone — your percentages and charts still make sense, but the figures cannot be read.

   Tip · It changes nothing in your data. Only what is on screen changes, and you can switch it off whenever you like.

   Password and sign-in methods

   Under Account Security you can change your password at any time — you just confirm your current one first. If you have an email-and-password account, you can also link a Google account, and you'll be able to sign in with either from then on. You always need to keep at least one method active.

   Tip · Changing your password doesn't disconnect a Google account you already linked, and linking Google doesn't touch your password — both methods stay active at the same time.

   Export your data

   Under Export Data you download a copy of everything you have in iowii — transactions, accounts, merchants, debts, goals, and reminders — in a single file. Useful for keeping your own record or taking your data elsewhere.

   Weekly email summary

   Under Notifications you can turn on the Weekly Expense Summary — every Monday at 9am you get an email breaking down your categories, amounts, and trends, with no transaction descriptions or names. This is available from the Essencial plan up; on the free plan the card shows Locked, and tapping it opens a window with the plan needed to unlock it.

   Choose language and formats

   Under Preferences you pick your language, date format, and number format. The two formats are independent of the language — you can read in English and still see European dates and numbers.

   Tune what you see

   The remaining preferences change what the app shows you by default:

   • Dashboard display — amounts or percentages.
   • Scheduled items — hide them by default, and be told when one stops being future-dated.
   • Budget — which income to count and how to project expenses.
   • Hidden categories — categories you would rather not see on the dashboard.
   • High contrast — stronger colours for easier reading.

   Tip · Currency is not here — you change it from your profile menu at the top of the app.

9. 9

   Delete your account

   At the bottom of Profile there is the option to delete your account. It removes everything tied to it — transactions, accounts, merchants, imports, goals, debts, reminders, shares, and feedback — and automatically disconnects any active bank connection. You confirm by typing your email.

   Tip · It cannot be undone. If you only want a break, simply stop using the account — it stays as it is.
