Shared expenses
Who paid what, without mental math.
IOWII turns every expense into a clear record: who paid, who participated, how it was split, and what remains to settle.
Record it once
Add the amount, account, and people involved. IOWII keeps the calculation tied to the original expense so everyone sees the same explanation.
- Equal, fixed-amount, or proportional splits
- Different participants for each expense
- Settlement status tied to the record
For couples
Track shared costs without turning every personal account into a joint account. Each person decides what enters the shared space.
For families and groups
Create a Group for ongoing expenses — a household, a trip, a project — and log each expense into it. Every participant sees only the Group they belong to, never anyone else's personal accounts.
- One Group for ongoing expenses, not just one at a time
- The balance between each person always visible, with the history behind it
- Record the payment once you settle up
- Recurring bills, like rent, that you confirm each month
- A suggestion of the fewest payments to settle up between three or more people
- Rules that get expenses ready to share, always with your confirmation
- Expenses in another currency converted to the group's currency, at a rate you confirm
- A summary of where the money goes, and comments on every expense
How to split expenses, step by step
In a Group, each expense says who paid and who it is split between. IOWII adds it all up and shows the balance between each person, so you know who owes whom without doing the maths.
- Create a Group and invite the people
- Add the expense: amount, who paid, and who took part
- Choose the split: equal, exact amounts, percentage, or shares
- See who owes whom and record the payment once you settle up
A personal expense that becomes a group one
Already logged the expense in your own account? Share that transaction with the Group instead of typing it again. The rest of your accounts stay private.
- No duplicate entries
- Only the chosen transaction enters the Group
